Chef Ram Thapa
Ram Thapa is in love with Indian foods. He has been very passionate about cooking from very early age and started learning cooking at his grandmother's kitchen helping cutting vegetables and peeling fruits. He professionally started his career at kitchen as helper 20 years back at Yak & Yati Hotel. He has been cooking Indian food all his life, also worked with international hospitality partner like Carnival Cruise USA, National Hotel Dubai, Shangril-La Hotel. He was Executive Chef at Masala Indian Cuisine, McLean and recently opened Urban Tandoor Indian Restaurant at Ballston, Virginia; until he decided to open his own restaurant. He is Executive Chef at London Curry House and leading his team to serve best Indian food in DMV area.
A hospitality professional worked in various area of food and beverage department in last 15 years. He has been exposed himself with many apex international hotels including Four Seasons Hotel, Park Hyatt DC, Hilton Hotel, Intercontinental Doha, Shangri-La Kathmandu. He recently left Blue Duck Tavern (1* Michelin Star) restaurant at Park Hyatt after 10 years of service to join London Curry House as General Manager. He is brining DC's refined dining service at London Curry House, Alexandria, Virginia.
Very unique food and beverage professional who has seen both sides of restaurant business. Started as line cook behind the kitchen and moved to front of the house of restaurant 7 years ago and fall in love with wine service world. He enjoys getting know new guests every day and making their dining experience memorable. Very good on executing restaurant operation and enjoys selling good wines. He is operating manager and wine sommelier at London Curry House.
Business major and minor in hotel management graduate, has been working in restaurant industry since 2004. He has worked with world class hotel including Four Seasons Hotel Washington DC, Shangri-La, Singapore and The Watergate Hotel in Washington DC. Fine bar professional who ran interesting bar programs in various upscale restaurant in Washington DC, recently left as head bartender at The Watergate Hotel DC for last two years. He is bringing hand crafted cocktail and interesting bar program at London Curry House, also works as beverage manager.
